Crypto political action committee Fairshake achieves its first victory in the 2026 U.S. Congressional primaries
PANews, March 5 — According to CoinDesk, the crypto industry political action committee Fairshake has achieved an initial victory in the first round of the 2026 U.S. Congressional midterm primaries. Several pro-crypto candidates supported by Fairshake won in the primaries held on Tuesday, including Republican Jessica Steinmann, backed by Trump, who won the Republican primary for Texas's 8th district with nearly 70% of the vote, and House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill, who received over $400,000 in advertising support and easily won with 77% of the vote. One of Fairshake's key efforts in this primary was to try to eliminate crypto critic, Texas Democratic Congressman Al Green. In the newly redistricted 18th district, Green trailed his blockchain-supporting opponent Christian Menefee in the primary. Since neither candidate received more than half of the votes, they will proceed to a runoff election.

Bayer receives approval from US court to settle herbicide lawsuit for $7.3 billions
Golden Ten Data March 5th|Bayer announced that a US judge has given preliminary approval to its $7.25 billions settlement plan to resolve the ongoing Roundup herbicide litigation. Bayer expects that the settlement payments will result in negative free cash flow in 2026. The class action settlement plan was proposed in February this year, with some plaintiffs who had used the herbicide claiming to have developed lymphoma, but Bayer has consistently denied these allegations. According to the statement, after preliminary approval by the Missouri Circuit Court, members of the class action may opt out or raise objections within 90 days, with the deadline set for June 4th.
