US Stock Movement | Blackstone rises 3%, addresses fund redemption pressure through internal fundraising
Golden Ten Data March 4|Blackstone (BX.US) rose 3%, closing at $114.25. According to sources, more than 25 Blackstone executives (many from the credit business department) jointly invested about $150 millions to subscribe to Blackstone's private credit fund. The company also used $250 millions of its own capital, helping to address a record redemption request of about $3.8 billions (approximately 7.9% of net assets). It proved to be a crucial timely intervention, allowing the $82 billions flagship fund BCRED to pay investors without adjusting the redemption offer terms, and avoiding the release of signals that could trigger negative interpretations during sensitive market sentiment. Weather factors regain pricing power as US natural gas futures fall below the $3 psychological threshold
Golden Ten Data reported on March 4 that U.S. natural gas futures prices have fallen below $3. As global energy price pressures ease, the market's attention has shifted back to weather factors. Temperatures are expected to rise next week, followed by a cold snap in mid-March that will boost demand. Eli Rubin of EBW Analytics stated in a report: "From a fundamental perspective, NYMEX natural gas is currently unaffected by global supply disruptions, as LNG exports are already running at full capacity—its price may soon decouple from oil prices and move lower." Nymex April-delivered natural gas futures fell 4.1% to $2.929 per million British thermal units. Dutch TTF natural gas futures dropped 13%.
